Kerala Floods 2018 – Fund Raising Campaign

Vienna Malayalee Association's Charity wing has started a fund raising campaign to help rebuild lives of the flood affected victims in Kerala.

How will we distribute the funds collected?

We have already started to receive applications directly from flood affected victims. The Chair of the charity committee will visit the applicants personally to assess their current situation before we extend assistance to the needy.

Our goal is to raise 2,500,000 rupees (around 30,000 euros). So far we have raised around half of this amount.

We would like to request you to donate a convenient amount to make this project a successful one.

2018 Charity Project

Vienna Malayalee Association now about to make an incredible difference to another poor homeless family.

A.A. Markose, from Ayumala house, Chemberry, Kannur, Kerala, India has a rheumatic disease and after a long-term treatment is now able to move his fingers but not able to lift his hand. His wife, Thankamma, is not able to go to work daily due to her husband's sickness, hence is only able to do some odd jobs, which unfortunately don't even cover their daily expenses.

They have one hard working boy who is in 11th grade.

The family is currently living in a rented one room shelter and is not able to meet their shelter rent and other minimum expenses with Thankamma's small irregular income.

Some good-hearted people from Chemberry, Kerala, have given them 4 cents to build a house on.

If we all get involved in this project and make a small contribution, this family will have a house and a better life by the end of this year.
